Vegetation Fire Blocks National Road in Brasov County

A massive vegetation fire blocked traffic on national road DN1 in Brasov county, on Friday evening, as firefighters were deployed in attempts to contain the blaze.

Traffic on the DN1 road at the exit of Fagaras towards Sibiu was blocked on both lanes, due to very low visibility caused by the fire.

As of Friday evening, the fire was still spreading at a fast pace due to heavy wind.

Representatives of the Brasov Emergency Situations Inspectorate said that the fire affected a surface of approximately two hectares, with the flames reaching heights of up to five meters.
