The research, which polled 4,120 people, revealed that about 10% of respondents plan to allot over 1,000 for holidays this year.
According to the poll, 30.65% of Romanians will spend less than EUR300 on holidays in 2011 and 5.71% said they won’t go on vacation this year.
The poll also shows that, in 2010, over 47% of respondents spent their holidays in Romania, 17.09% spent their vacation abroad and 12.72% chose both local and foreign tourist destinations. About 23% of respondents said they did not go on vacation last year.
About 19% of those who spent their holidays both in Romania and abroad do not have own income, 33% earn below 1,500 lei (EUR1=RON4.2632) and 48% earn more than RON1,500.
According to the poll, 34.61% of respondents said their 2010 holiday budget was lower than that allotted in the previous years and 30.34% said the amount of money they spent on holidays last year was almost similar to that allotted in the previous years.
The research shows that 38.83% of Romanians plan their holidays without resorting to tour operators.
Over 90% of respondents said services offered abroad are better than in Romania.
