Ponta said the budget to be allotted to the Defense Ministry next year will render the Army unable to function.
The social democrat leader said his party will draw up an alternative draft budget, based on current macroeconomic figures.
Romanian institutions managing funds, except the Labor, Agriculture, Environment, Finance, Development and Transport ministries, will receive less money from the state budget next year, both compared to the budget projection for 2010 and the 2010 initial budget, which was revised twice.
According to the draft budget for 2011, the Defense Ministry will receive RON4.7 billion, down 30% compared to the budget estimated for 2010, of RON6.7 billion.
