Sales slowed immediately after the end of car renewal government programs.
Dacia did better than its owner Renault percentagewise both in October and in the first ten months. According to ACEA, Renault registrations decreased 17.9% in October and increased 7% in the first ten months. But in terms of volume, Renault remains the best-selling brand in the group’s portfolio and registrations stood at 953,139 units in the first ten months.
Renault, which includes Romania’s Dacia, is the third largest European carmaker by new car registrations in the first ten months (1.167 million cars), after Volkswagen (2.4 million) and PSA Peugeot Citroen (1.52 million).
