Dalli Exim issued Monday, in accordance with the Labor Code, the termination notices for the company’s employees, following a decision of the general mayor to take over the parking lots managed by the company in Bucharest.

The employees said they will picket City Hall every day between 09:00 and 13:00 local time.

Dalli management said Monday that it has tried, through three requests, to initiate a dialogue with the Bucharest general mayor, but such a meeting has not taken place yet. Company representatives said they await a time and date for talks with mayor Sorin Oprescu, a meeting meant to find solutions for the employees.

Friday, Dalli Exim asked Oprescu to find a solution for the company’s 147 employees who were left jobless following the city’s takeover of the parking spots.

The company said that in the contract concluded in 1995 with City Hall, regarding the management of the paid parking lots, Dalli was forced to take in the entire city hall personnel handling these parking lots.

City representatives said, also Friday, that the request for a meeting with Dalli representatives arrived at the mayor’s office Friday, 14:00 local time, and Oprescu issued a positive reply.

Bucharest City Hall recently took over the 3,000 parking lots managed so far by private company Dalli Exim.
