Vrancea County Council Leader Ridicules Rumors of Wealth Inquiries

The Vrancea county leader stated that the rumors were started by members of the rival Liberal Party (PNL).
“I will not answer these ineptitudes of the stupid, bad and incompetent in PNL. I only answer to the citizens of Vrancea county and Romania. I await with great pleasures both ANI and DNA, DIICOT, ANAF, the General Prosecutor’s Office and the Romanian Police or even the FBI, if we do not trust state institutions, to investigate deceitful information started by some people who developed fevers from the lack of scandal subjects,” Oprisan told MEDIAFAX.
ANI inspectors have launched an inquiry into Oprisan’s wealth, according to rumors surfaced on Friday. Specifically, inspectors are allegedly verifying one of the county council chairman's personal vehicles, valued at EUR150,000, which according to Oprisan was a gift from his mother, a pensioner.
The agency did not confirm or dismiss the rumor and said that it could comment on the matter, in response to a MEDIAFAX inquiry on Friday.
