Thorning-Schmidt is on a visit to Romania to present the priorities of the future Presidency of the European Union, which will be taken over by Denmark on January 1.
Boc said he hopes a decision regarding Romania’s accession to the border-free area will be taken during the Danish EU presidency. Romania will support the priorities of the future EU presidency, Boc highlighted.
Thorning-Schmidt assured the prime minister that supporting Romania’s Schengen entry has been included in the government program of the newly installed Danish Cabinet.
According to Thorning-Schmidt, the current government and the former one found common ground during negotiations on the government program regarding support for Romania’s accession to Schengen.
