Western, Southwestern Romania Under Weather Alert For Rain Saturday

Romanian weather authorities issued an alert for heavy rain expected in 11 counties in western and southwestern Romania Saturday afternoon.

Precipitation is expected to exceed 20 liters per square meter, and even 25-30 liters per square meters in certain areas. The weather alert affects counties Arad, Arges, Bihor, Caras-Severin, Dambovita, Dolj, Gorj, Hunedoara, Mehedinti, Valcea and Timis.

Southern Romania has been affected by flooding and landslides the past week because of heavy rain and melting snow.
