Romania 1Q Tourist Arrivals Up 13.2% On Year

Residents accounted for 78.1% of total arrivals at accommodation establishments in the first quarter, while foreigners made up for the reminder 21.9%.

The large majority of foreign visitors (95.5%) came from Europe, the data showed.

Numbers of Romanian tourists traveling abroad declined 3.8% on the year in the first quarter.

In March compared with the same month of 2010, tourist arrivals increased by 13.2%, while overnight accommodations were up 8.9%.
