Two workers were buried alive Monday morning while working on the foundation of an apartment building in Bucharest’s district 6.

According to Catalin Eftene, spokesperson of the Bucharest emergency inspectorate, one worker died and the other one managed to dig his way out of the ditch just when the ground caving started.

Two ambulances arrived at the scene shortly, while rescue teams are still striving to get the dead worker out of the ditch.
