The prosthesis will be used on patients who lost their arm following injuries or chronic diseases.
Unlike “classic” prostheses, the bionic hand is controlled by the brain and it can execute the most delicate movements.
The cost of such a prosthesis, produced by Scotland’s Touch Bionics, can vary between EUR15,000 and EUR40,000.
The bio hand is available for trading as of July 2007 and over 200 patients worldwide benefited from the prosthesis so far.
