Romanian Foreign Ministry Responds To UN Accusations Regarding State Secrets
The report claims that several countries, including Romania, have hidden illegal acts from supervision bodies and judicial authorities under the pretext of state secrets.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry states it has taken note of the report and will argue its case with the UN. It cites article 24, paragraph 5 of Law 182/2002 on the protection of classified information, which forbids the hiding of breaches of the law, administrative errors, restriction of access to information of public interest and illegal restriction of the rights of any person or legitimate interest.
