The draft, put forward by social democrat senator Adrian Tutuianu, will amend Law 61/1993 regarding state allowance for children.

The Senate’s committee for labor, family and social protection matters drafted a negative report on the initiative, arguing that the allowance is a universal right of children and young people, regardless of income, and that the amendment proposes an exception to the general principle according to which it is granted.
