Romanian Govt Can Adopt Any Act To Counter Teachers’ Wage Hike Law – Govt Official

The Romanian government will thoroughly analyze the implications of the teachers’ wage hike law, which president Traian Basescu passed Friday, and can adopt any normative act in this respect as it still considers the move is unsustainable unless all investments are canceled.

"We’ll analyze the implications of this decision very carefully," Government secretary general Gabriel Berca told MEDIAFAX.
 
Romanian president Traian Basescu approved on Friday a 50% wage hike for education system employees, a law that the government warned would jeopardize economic stability.
 
Prime Minister Calin Tariceanu declined to comment the decision in any way until the act is published tin the Official Gazette, government spokeswoman Camelia Spataru said Friday.
