Doru Tulus remains DNA Prosecutor, as CSM rejects dismissal request

The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) rejected yesterday the petition of the Justice Minister Tudor Chiuariu requesting the dismissal of Doru Tulus from his position of Chief-Prosecutor of the Second Section of Legal Investigations of the National Anticorruption Division (DAN).

The CSM magistrates decision actually leaves the Liberal Justice Minister at the free will of the President, with insignificant chances of success. Chiuariu decided though to choose this solution, as he thinks that all responsible institutions have to express their points of view on the Tulus case, on one hand, and because of the “extremely severe matters” revealed in the report of the Legal Investigation performed by the CSM, on the other hand.
