Romania's national team won one gold and two silver medals at the 18th edition of the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics, held between October 31 and November 7 in Montenegro, the Education Ministry said on Monday.

Romanian defense minister Teodor Melescanu said Tuesday at the ministry’s 2007 activity report meeting that observing international commitments in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Balkans remains a top priority in 2008.
