The Romanian pollution tax for cars will be set with respect for the technical data of each particular car, based on carbon dioxide and noxious gas emissions, since the new system of calculation, discussed Monday, was approved by the Executive, Ministry sources told MEDIAFAX.

The Romanian government is considering a hike in the pollution tax for very old cars, with non-euro, Euro 1 and Euro 2 engines, and a change in the sum paid for new cars, through a system in which CO2 emissions will represent the main calculation criterion.
