The leadership bodies of Romania’s opposition Liberal and Conservative parties on Saturday approved with a wide majority of votes the creation of an alliance with the Social Democratic Party.

Romanian conservative leader Daniel Constantin on Tuesday said conservatives and social democrats, in opposition, will team up and submit next week with the Chamber of Deputies a simple motion on agriculture, calling for the dismissal of Agriculture Minister Mihail Dumitru.

The leader of the Romanian social democrats, Mircea Geoana, said Friday the government formed by the social democrats and conservatives aims to boost the minimum wage to RON1,000 (EUR1 = RON3.5507), two build eight stadiums at UEFA standards, and 1,000 kilometers of speedways and railroads.
