Romanian Transport Minister Anca Boagiu on Friday signed five contracts, worth a total EUR692.68 million (including VAT), for the design and construction of highway sections on Pan-European Corridor IV, the first of nine project packages that have been auctioned off.

Romania supports the development of the Southern Energy Corridor, which will connect the European market to the gas reserves in the Caspian Sea region and Middle East, while the Nabucco project is the priority for Romania, Prime Minister Emil Boc said Friday in New York City.
