Romanian prosecutors ruled not to start criminal investigations against social democrat Senate Chairman Mircea Geoana accused of forgery in his wealth statement, people close to the matter told MEDIAFAX Wednesday.

President of Romania’s Democrat Liberal Party Emil Boc on Monday said his party backs the commencement of criminal investigation in the case of former youth and sports minister Monica Iacob Ridzi, in order to give her the chance to prove her innocence in justice.
