Romanian Senate Chairman Mircea Geoana said Monday opposition parties must submit a no-confidence motion against the Government if the Executive gives a confidence vote to the cut spending program to reduce salaries and pensions.

Romanians plan to spend less on certain products in 2010 and the biggest spending cuts will target cigarettes, alcohol, clothes and electronic appliances, while food budgets will not be reduced, according to a survey conducted in February by market research company 360insights.
