Moldovan authorities declared persona non grata Ioan Gaborean, minister councilor of the Romanian Embassy to the Republic of Moldova, alongside Romanian ambassador Filip Teodorescu, according to a press release posted on the website of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry.

Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu urged Romanian ambassadors Tuesday to discard “infatuation and phony diplomacy" and start promoting the country’s interests abroad more efficiently, mainly by backing the investment projects of Romanian companies abroad.

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sees as "unfriendly" and “unjustified" the gesture of Moldovan authorities at Chisinau to dub persona non grata two diplomats from within the Romanian Embassy in Moldova and it is analyzing the measures that such an action imposes.
