Romania’s Government wants to amend the country’s labor legislation, introduce postal voting for Romanians living abroad, simplify privatization procedures and regulate aspects related to the checkup of public purchase contract award procedures.

The draft laws the Romanian government wants to adopt by assuming will be sent to Parliament Monday morning, Prime Minister Emil Boc and the ministers of labor, education and justice decided in a talk Saturday.

The Romanian Senate tacitly adopted two draft laws according to which members of electoral offices need to have certificates issued by family physicians stating they are psychologically and physically apt to do their job on election day.

The institution initiating a draft normative act will decide, depending on the area regulated, if the draft needs the go-ahead from the High Council for National Defense, the High Council of Magistrates, the Competition Council and/or the Court of Accounts.
