Romanian government pledged to search an alternative strategy to overhaul its energy system if its current plans to set up two national champions fail to produce the desired results by year-end, according to the country’s draft letter of intent agreed with the International Monetary Fund.

The Romanian ruling coalition leaders met Monday in weekly session for talks about the country’s energy strategy, which will be later discussed by the government and the country’s National Defense Council CSAT, Prime Minister Emil Boc said Monday.
