The Romanian leu continued to strengthened against the euro on Thursday, driven by the positive sentiment in the region following the financial results reported by GP Morgan, Nokia and Coca-Cola, dealers said.

The Romanian National Forecast Commission issued the 2008 preliminary spring forecast, touching the main macroeconomic indicators, the variation in industrial output, the trade balance, employment, wages, inflation and the exchange rates.

The Romanian leu strengthened against the euro on Friday to 3.67/6750 to the euro, dealers suspecting the appreciation was due to the central bank’s intervention on the market.
