Food prices in Romania will increase by up to 8% in the upcoming weeks following recent rainfall and floods, which damaged hundreds of hectares on farmland, agriculture union federation AGROSTAR president Niculae Stefan said in a press release.

Romania’s Finance Minister Sebastian Vladescu said Tuesday, at the opening bell of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, that people who own farming lands but don’t use them should be sanctioned.
