Romanian President Traian Basescu has asked the Parliament to reject a bill amending the gas law, whereby domestic production of natural gas is used on the internal market exclusively, until import sources are diversified.

Romanian group Interagro, owned by businessman Ioan Niculae, called on the Economy Ministry to change the law on natural gas, so that the gas used by the chemical and petrochemical plants would be considered raw material instead of power resource.
