Asking prices for housing in Romania grew 1.6% in February compared with January, with the biggest growth recorded in Cluj-Napoca, according to a housing market report by Imobiliare.ro.

Romanian house and apartment prices dropped some 10% between January 2009 and September 2010, according to data released by the national statistics institute INS.

The price of Romanian housing will continue to fall this year, by around 10%-15% for newly-built properties and by 15%-20% for old homes, as clients’ incomes are estimated to drop further, said Tuesday Adrian Crivii, the general manager of evaluation and advisory company Darian.
