Romania has pledged to "aggresively" resurrect the privatization program, especially in the industry, energy, transport, tourism or agriculture, as part of its efforts to raise budget revenue to meet the International Monetary Fund requirements.

Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc on Monday nominated the team mandated to have talks with International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Commission (EC) on the topics related to state guarantees threshold, resources for investments, tax exemption for reinvested profit and the budget deficit.

A joint mission of the World Bank and of the International Monetary Fund, or IMF, will be on a visit to Romania between November 3 and November 14 to assess the country’s financial system, a statement of the International Monetary Fund read.
