ECHR: Romania Failed To Adequately Address Issue Of Stray Dogs

Romania has been held responsible by the European Court of Human Rights for failing to provide sufficient protection from stray dogs to its citizens, following a complaint lodged by a 71 year-old woman, who was violently bitten by a number of dogs in Bucharest in 2000.

Romania is liable for almost EUR7.5 million in just satisfaction for judgments which remained final in 2010, according to the annual report on the execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
