Romanian president Traian Basescu said Friday that problems in the judicial system and public administration can only be solved by lowering expenses, adding the finance minister’s proposal to force people into ten days of unpaid leave is wrong.

Romanian referees Sorin Corpodean and Marcel Savaniu, arrested in the refereeing corruption case, have been released Friday afternoon and put under judicial control, on a decision of the Pitesti Court of Appeals.
