Taxi transportation, car washes and artistic interpretation are some of the activities introduced by the Romanian Government on a list of 28 services for which the lump sum tax will be paid, according to a working document of the Government.

Restaurants, hotels, tour operators, fitness centers, but also funeral homes are among the activities for which the lump sum tax could be collected, according to a list, discussed by authorities, which includes 26 services performed for the population.

The lump-sum tax will be calculated according to the companies’ turnover, between an annual minimum level of EUR500 and a maximum ceiling of EUR10,000, the employers’ proposal being accepted by Romania’s Finance Ministry.

The Romanian government coalition decided Thursday that salaries in education will not drop, the minimum pension will be maintained and the pension point will grow to 43.3%, investments will be maintained and leasing companies will be exempt from the lump sum tax, social democrat sources told MEDIAFAX.
