Romania’s chief anticorruption prosecutor Daniel Morar was delegated to head the National Anticorruption Department, or DNA, for another 90 days starting January 1, 2009.

Romania’s centrist Democratic-Liberal Party, or PDL, obtained most of the MP seats following the Sunday parliamentary polls, latest data published by the election authorities showed Tuesday.

The head of the Bucharest Election Office, Alin Visan, said Tuesday that democrat liberals got 12 deputy and five senator seats in Bucharest, the social democrat and conservative alliance got 12 deputy and five senator seats, while liberals got five deputy and two senator seats.

The vote rendered by the Romanian Parliament extending the mandate of the current Court of Accounts leadership was valid and the mandate was extended until September 30, according to a decision issued by the Standing Offices of the two Chambers of Parliament.
