The Romanian Ministry of Interior wants a 15% share from the taxes it collects for the state budget, to be used by the ministry, according to a draft emergency ordinance, publicly debated until September 3.

Romania’s General Anticorruption Department said it probed over 1,100 employees with the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reform during January-November 2007 and prosecutors charged 163 of them with alleged corruption.
