Romanian Finance Minister Sebastian Vladescu Thursday said the government should have stuck to its plan to use the money from the sale of lender Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) to build motorways.

Romania has put on hold for the second time choosing the builder of a highway segment to link central cities Comarnic and Brasov, pending additional data from bidders, Transport Minister Radu Berceanu said Thursday.

Romanian prime minister Calin Tariceanu inspected the state of works on the Transylvania Motorway, in northwestern Romanian county Cluj, saying the works are unfolding "at a fast pace and with technologies used in Romania for the first time," thus some of the segments might be completed sooner.
