Current data show that more than 25% of the applications for mortgage loans guaranteed by the state in the "First Home" program target newly-built dwellings, the Romanian government said Wednesday.

Romania’s deputy Prime Minister Dan Nica said Tuesday the authorities would prefer the "First Home" program to mainly refer to new-built dwellings, in order to obtain a multiplier effect in the economy.
