The Romanian ruling Democratic Liberal Party’s Standing Bureau on Monday decided to oust Silviu Bian from the party, following his arrest on corruption charges, deputy Razvan Mustea said Monday.

The leader of the County Council Iasi, eastern Romania, Constantin Simirad, was ousted from the Social Democratic Party on Friday after saying last week that he would back acting president Traian Basescu in the upcoming presidential election campaign.
