Over 12,000 Romanian retirees will file a collective suit against the Romanian state if the Government goes through with its plan to lower pensions by 15% to cut public spending, the foundation filing the suit said in a press release Wednesday.

About 1,000 retirees ended a protest outside the presidential palace in Bucharest, two hours later than planned and after brief scuffles with security forces.
