Romania might be able to resume its swine exports as of July, after a commission of the EU checks to see whether the country has closed all its swine fever outbreaks, Agriculture Ministry state secretary Adrian Radulescu said Thursday.

Romanians are to kill pigs for Christmas only after the animals are stunned with guns firing captive bolts, the national veterinary authority ANSVSA said in a statement Thursday.
