Romania’s Constitutional Court postponed on Wednesday challenges made by President Klaus Iohannis, opposition parties and the Supreme Court against a bill which would declassify a 2005 Defense Council ruling which is the basis for secret service-judiciary protocols and all the acts it affected.

Romania’s Constitutional Court decided on Tuesday to postpone a decision regarding the judicial conflict between the Parliament and the Public Ministry, on the subject of secret services-judiciary protocols, for Thursday.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis challenged on Friday, at the Constitutional Court, a bill which declassifies a 2005 Defense Council ruling and all the acts it affected, which was the basis for later secret services-judiciary collaboration protocols.

Romania’s Constitutional Court will debate on Wednesday a notification made by the country’s Lower Chamber, regarding a constitutional conflict between the Parliament and the Public Ministry on the subject of secret service-judiciary protocols.

The judicial and defense committees of Romania’s Lower Chamber voted on Tuesday to recommend the declassification of a 2005 Defense Council decision which enabled collaboration protocols between judicial bodies and the Romanian Intelligence Service(SRI), as well as all documents signed on its basis.
