Romania’s leu retreated against the euro in mid trade Friday and the central bank’s reference lost 0.45% on the day at 4.2051 units, the weakest rate since January 5.

The Romanian leu slightly strengthened against the euro in the first trade of the year, and the central bank computed an indicative of RON4.2265 to the euro.

Romanian leu edged higher against the euro in mid trade Tuesday, amid growing international confidence in the German economy, and the central bank’s reference rate gained 0.4% on the day at RON4.2648, the strongest level in the past seven weeks.
