The United Kingdom's Migration Advisory Committee recommends maintaining restrictions on the access of Bulgarian and Romanian nationals to employment, as lifting them would have a negative impact on the British labor market.

Romanian businessman Gigi Becali has withdrawn his request to be allowed to spend one month in Monte Carlo, as his attorneys said that if Becali becomes an MEP, he will have immunity, and if he does not, he must wait for the current restrictions to expire.
