Romanian tax authority ANAF on Monday said it will return value added taxes worth a total 1.61 billion lei (EUR373.9 million) in October, including RON363 million in compensations.

Romanian fiscal authority ANAF will refund VAT worth 934.19 million lei (EUR1=RON4.2798) in October, in three installments, the institution announced Wednesday.

Romanian President Traian Basescu said Friday the mission of the International Monetary Fund, World Bank and the European Commission will leave Romania Saturday and will come again to resume talks on the standby loan agreement when the country has a legitimate Government.

The Romanian Ministry of Labor, Family and Social Security (MMFPS) concluded Monday and agreement with the Spanish Ministry of Labor and Immigration, on the facilitation of voluntary return of Romanian workers from Spain, especially the unemployed or those at risk of losing their jobs.

The Romanian government will create and periodically update, starting with December 2008, a database of Romanian citizens working abroad, including the working conditions and the reasons for immigration, and will offer facilities for Romanians returning to the country, helping them open a business.
