Romanian union federation Cartel Alfa called on all public sector workers Thursday to cease work and urged the Government to pay people’s full wages and bonuses and reverse a 25% pay cut implemented in July.

The case regarding the 1990 Romanian miner riots was closed, while the prosecution office within the High Court of Justice decided not to initiate criminal investigations against social democrat honorary president Ion Iliescu.
