The Romanian Aeronautics and Cosmonautics Association (ARCA) Friday successfully launched the first Romanian space rocket, Helen 2, off the Black Sea coast, ARCA president Dumitru Popescu told a news conference Monday.

The first Romanian spacecraft and the equipment needed for its launch will be unloaded Friday on a Military Navy ship by officials of the Aeronautics and Cosmonautics Romanian Association (ARCA), with preparations for the launch scheduled to begin next week.
