The European Commission on Thursday approved Spain's request to restrict its labor market to Romanian workers until December 31, 2012 due to serious disturbances on its labor market, the EC said in a press release.

Germany decided to maintain labor restrictions for Romanian workers, while extending the stay period for temporary workers to six months from currently four, the Romanian Labor Ministry said Monday.

Nine Romanian workers have been abandoned on Libyan territory, after an Italian employer stole their passports, Romania’s Foreign Ministry said Saturday.
