Voting by Romanians abroad for the country’s future Parliament was kick started Saturday evening (Romania time) by a priest in Wellington, New Zeeland, and ended with the vote of a limousine firm owner in Riverside, California, among the 24,000 Romanians who voted abroad.

About 2,000 Romanians in Italy, a little over 1,500 in Spain and about 1,300 in the Republic of Moldova voted by GMT 1100. Voter turnout is low compared to the large Romanian communities in the three countries.
