Only 11% of Romanians are in favor of same-sex marriage, according to a survey which stresses that the social situation for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals and transgendered (LGBT) people throughout the European Union remains a problem, EUObserver reported.

Romanian senators decided Wednesday to ban same-sex marriages, defining family as based on the consented union between a man and a woman in an amendment to the Family Code.
