Romanian central bank governor Mugur Isarescu said Thursday people are displeased with the country’s social services which are said to be underfunded, adding that taking money from one place to subsidize another is not a solution.

Members of Romanian social services and child care unions demand the same wage rights as employees of local administrations, once the unitary public sector wage law comes into effect. They ask that the status of maternal assistants be made clearer and request bonuses for special working conditions.

Romania’s telecom operator Romtelecom was granted licenses to use national six-digit numbers for social services 116000 and 116111, the country’s IT&C regulator ANRCTI said in a statement Wednesday.
