Bucharest general mayor Sorin Oprescu said Thursday that construction works on Bucharest’s Lia Manoliu stadium are more than 75% finalized, adding works will be over until the end of 2010 and the stadium cupola will be mounted until March-April 2011.

The Discipline Commission of the Romanian Football Federation, or FRF, Wednesday decided to suspend FC Steaua owner, Gigi Becali, and FC Universitatea Cluj president, Anton Dobos, and ban their access “on any stadium” for a two-year period.

Bucharest Police gave fines and set criminal records for several football fans following clashes between gendarmes and fans of FC Dinamo Bucuresti and FC Rapid Bucuresti on Sunday evening, police spokesman Christian Ciocan said Monday.
